Indigenous Peoples
Asia-Pacific is home to more than two-thirds of the global population of Indigenous Peoples. An estimated 260 million people comprise 2,000 civilizations and languages. Many find themselves among the most marginalized communities in the region.
However, young indigenous people do not only recognize the challenges they face, they also realize their own agency. Young Indigenous Peoples, especially young social entrepreneurs, are coming up with innovative solutions to protect, preserve and better not only their own communities, but society as a whole.
In celebration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, Youth Co:Lab highlights the amazing initiatives of youth from Indigenous communities in Asia and the Pacific.
